  • How does hypnosis work?

By quieting the conscious mind, hypnosis presents the opportunity to access the subconscious directly. This is the powerful part of your mind where change needs to take place to realize your goals. The hypnotist guides you through an exploration of your issues or problems in an effort to help you understand and ultimately change whatever is not working. By "incorporating new and powerful thoughts," you are able to selectively establish the positive thinking necessary to empowering your self-development. Hypnosis is one of the most powerful ways known to transcend your limitations and accelerate your personal growth.

    Will I be asleep?

Hypnosis is not a sleep state.  You will be able to remember everything that is beneficial to you and that you have chosen to remember.

Will I lose control in hypnosis?

No. In fact, hypnosis is a state of heightened awareness and self-control.  You can never be made to do anything in hypnosis that is against your ethical or moral values. Hypnosis will allow you to experience an empowered state that is a proven way to help you transcend your limitations and realize your full potential.

Can I get "stuck" in hypnosis?

Absolutely not! Everyone goes in and out of trance every day. It is a naturally occurring state, and it naturally goes away if it is not ended purposefully. The state of hypnosis requires that you concentrate on an outside stimulus, the hypnotist's voice. If that voice disappears for a few minutes with no other stimulus, you will simply drift into a natural sleep and wake up when you feel like it.  Because you are not "asleep", it is impossible for you not to "wake up".

    Am I hypnotizable?

The answer is "Yes". Hypnosis is a trance like state that is natural and recurring. We experience it every day whether you realize it or not. If you ever lost yourself in a good book or a movie or found yourself daydreaming then a light hypnotic state will feel very familiar to you. When you go to sleep at night you must enter an altered state of consciousness in order to arrive at the sleep state. When you wake in the morning you have to reverse this process. The only difference with hypnosis is that we are leading you into that state purposefully, and utilizing it to help you achieve your goals.

    Will I remember everything?

A hypnotic trance is more like a daydream that a deep sleep. If you choose, you can remember anything that you wish, while discarding anything that is not memorable.

What can hypnosis be used for?

Hypnosis has been successfully used in the treatment of many issues or problems. Just to name a few:  Weight loss, quit smoking, stress & anxiety alleviation, improve relationships, test taking, pain management, catastrophic illnesses, habit control, addictions, develop motivation, sexual enhancement, sports performance enhancement, and many, many more.

    What is self-hypnosis?

Self hypnosis merely means that you make positive suggestions to yourself while your mind is in a highly suggestible state. In self-hypnosis, constructive, healthful thoughts are placed in your subconscious mind BY YOU! No one else is telling you how to behave. YOU are the one that drives your desire to change.

    Is hypnosis medically approved?

Yes. The American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association have approved hypnotherapy for use by professionally responsible individuals. The British Medical Association also adopted hypnosis as a viable therapeutic tool in 1958. (The same year as the AMA.)

Are the results of hypnosis permanent?

Suggestions stay with some individuals indefinitely, others need reinforcement. The effects of hypnosis are cumulative: The more the techniques are practiced and post-hypnotic suggestions are brought into play, the more permanent the results become. Self-hypnosis training and reinforcement tapes for home use also provide additional help.
